Mike Blum: Owner & CCO

Mike is an Emmy-nominated and award-winning director, writer, and producer and is the owner and Chief Creative Officer of Pipsqueak Animation. Mike is known for creating and showrunning Get My Goat (Peacock Kids) Fifi: Cat Therapist (Peacock Kids) and Samurai! Daycare (Defy Media/SMOSH). His directing work also includes The Adventures of Baxter & McGuire (Comedy Central) which screened in competition at Sundance and Annecy, and The Zit (PBS) which screened in 100-plus festivals and won many international awards. Mike was the showrunner of Super Slackers for David Silverman (The Simpsons) and has had development deals with Cartoon Network, Disney and Lion Forge Animation. His studio’s clients include DreamWorks TV, Netflix, Comedy Central, Cartoon Network, MTV, Sesame Street, StoryCorps, ABC Mouse, American Airlines, The Lincoln Project and Explosm Entertainment (Cyanide & Happiness). His latest original project is Barkster Kid Songs – a song-based, social and emotional learning channel on YouTube.

Prior to forming his production company, Mike worked as an executive at Walt Disney Feature Animation and also served as the Technical Supervisor on Disney’s version of the animated feature Toy Story 3. Mike’s numerous animation credits include Chicken Little, Lilo & Stitch, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Atlantis and Dinosaur.

Mike founded Our Next 4 Years in 2017 which grew rapidly to include over 300 animation professionals — many Oscar and Emmy winners and nominees among them. They have released over 30 PSAs covering a range of progressive issues that have been seen by millions. Mike serves as the CCO for the organization.

Mike is currently developing numerous animated series and features for both kids and adults.

He is an active member of both the PGA and serves as co-chair of the PGA’s Animation Committee.
